Ever After was once the finest and most popular nightclub in Edinburgh’s LGBT+ scene. However, under ruthless management, financial misappropriation, tax evasion, and reckless abandon, it has become a shadow of its former self. Now, with the threat of bankruptcy, scandal, and financial investigation, it faces one more challenge – the opening of a new nightclub. This is not just any rival; it is The Glass Slipper, owned by “The King” of Edinburgh’s nightlife and their young child, “Prince” Ally Saxon.
Enter Ember, our hero, who spends their nights (and days) as a bartender and cleaner. But their real passion is music and performance. They long to be a famous DJ, to bring joy. However, every chance at pursuing this dream is stifled by their boss. Now hating their work, Ember and their loyal sidekick Buttons wish nothing more than to escape this no-way-out situation. For one does not leave Ever After without the boss’s say-so.
All seems hopeless until the mysterious DJ Cass invites them to attend the gala, where a chance encounter will change Ember’s life forever.
